Well, I have come to a very immutable realization this past year - I am not yet fit for the college life. It is an annoying and painful observation to make, but I can't seem to find any way around it. Ever since entering into university I have had anxiety for the first time in my life - fucking anxiety! That is so alien to my normal personality that it is hard to even fathom, but it happens. I get so anxious sometimes that I literally can sit in front of my computer for hours, knowing there is an assignment I need to do, having the knowledge, the literature, and the planning in front of me, but being completely incapable of writing or even doing anything. I hate the feeling, hate it with a passion which I can not even put into words.

And it is for this reason which I think I am going to do something different.

Something crazy.

Something reckless and random and adventurous.

I want to grab a camera, a few changes of clothes, a few dollars in my pocket, and I want to see how far I can get around the world.

I know that no one reads this blog, but I still felt that this was an appropriate place to make the announcement. The basics of this endeavor are this: save up some extra money, a few thousand or so, as an emergency fund, buy a new camcorder and camera, as well as a small, durable laptop capable of video editing, and then go and try to travel as far as I can around the world without the use of planes, recording and putting into an online site my daily adventures.

Yeah... I know that it probably won't work, that it is likely that I will get tired, sick, bored, or shot down shortly into this trip.... but.... But I just can't help wanting to do SOMETHING. Something that sets me apart from everyone else, something wild, adventurous. Something I will be able to tell my children with pride in my voice. I want to be able to tell them that just once in my life I reached for something extraordinary, and just said "fuck it" and went for it.
